THE KARATE KID: An inspiration ***

A few days back, I have caught a movie called Karate Kid. Jaden Smith played a role as Dre Parker. His father had passed away when he was young. Being a fatherless child was a hard time for him. Now, he lives with his mother who agreed her company to work in China, Beijing. They moved there and struggles to fit in, falling afoul of the local kids who, as expected, used him as a punching bag, deflating his irritating American bravado to zero. Then, he met a local girl who he wanted to impress and a morose handyman,

Mr Han. Jackie Chan played at this role. Dre Parker persuades him to teach him a mould of martial arts, Kungfu. Mr Han is a infallible kungfu master but he does not have any disciple. Dre Parker was taught by him, and he gained realisation.

The bad thing I find that it was a little draggy at the starting but there were gripping scenes at the middle till end. In the competition that Dre Parker participate in, profusion of injury in the semi-finals but still, with his fighting spirit and attitude, as well as Mr Han's motivation, in finals, he managed to win to those local kids that used to bully him when he first came Beijing.
