Just the other day, I went off to watch the movie, ‘Good guy’. I heard from many people that it was a pretty touching movie while others say it was a total rip-off. So I decided to see for myself. Let’s begin with the mould of this movie. Tommy (Main character) currently exists in the throes of impossibly heightened reality. He’s got a stunning new girlfriend, Blede, an art curator, and a sturdy career as a bank investor on Wall Street. Tommy’s head is about the size of his income, so when his boss entrusts him with selecting a replacement for a newly vacant position, he chooses Daniel, a seemingly harmless computer geek with zero background in finance.
After he encourages his pathetic protege to kick back with his trophy girlfriend, naturally, they find themselves in the middle of a nauseatingly familiar love triangle. From my perspective, I find the movie rather… LAME! I mean, it was completely unoriginal! Another one of these movies? Really? The trailer alone practically summarizes the astounding realization of the extremely dull chain of events that comprise the ‘Good Guy’. And don’t get me wrong, predictable films aren’t always awful. Truth to be told, most chick-flicks are laughably predictable. But at least offer us a shred of novelty. I scoff at the intellect of the director! *scoffs* =D
Interesting characters? No. Slightly puzzling plot twists? Not at all. Funny dialogue? Not even a hint. There were absolutely no scenes gripping enough to keep you indulged throughout the movie. I was practically dozing off. Indeed, this movie was infallibly a rip-off! Moreover, this movie is profusion on profanity and sexual situations, making it most scenes senseless and a waste of time. Many movie sites and reviews give this movie at least three stars, but I find even that too much, and award it with 2, which I still consider a lot for a movie of this caliber.
