I watched this film last year, even though this film was produced many years ago, but it is still worth watching it. The stunning visual effects, good surround sound and profusion of action made this film gripping to watch.
Armageddon is a 1998 American disaster film directed by Michael Bay, produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. The movie tells of a group of blue-collar deep-core drillers sent by NASA to stop an asteroid on a collision course with Earth. It featured an all-star cast including Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Billy Bob Thornton, Liv Tyler, Will Patton, Peter Stormare, Michael Clarke Duncan and Steve Buscemi. The plot of this film is about the Space Shuttle Atlantis is destroyed by a meteor shower, killing the entire crew. Meteorites then bombard New York City and other parts of the world, and NASA discovers that a large asteroid will collide with Earth in 18 days, effectively destroying the planet. The scientists at NASA—in cooperation with the Russian, Japanese, and other European space agencies—plan to detonate a nuclear bomb in the asteroid's core, splitting it in two and causing it to miss the Earth. The bomb must be placed 800 feet below the surface within eight hours of landing and no later than four hours before it will impact Earth.
This film has a lot of twists and turns, which are really unpredictable, You will only come to your realisation after the film ended. Some of the dialogues in this film are very amusing, which some are very touching. Armageddon has the same mould as the Deep Impact. Overall, this is an infallible movie.
