Answer to Social Studies Inference Exercise on Sri Lanka

Inference 1: The source is a one-sided view about the conflict in Sri Lanka. It tells me that the conflict in Sri Lanka is very violent and going on for a long time. Explanation: From the source, "bombed and launched artillery attacks" shows the violence occuring in Sri Lanka, as all these bombing and artillery attacks kills many people easily. Thus, leading to a violent conflict in Sri Lanka.

Inference 2: The source also shows me that the conflict in Sri Lanka was targeted at the Tamils. Explanation: From the source, "painted areas that you see - that is Tamil Eelam" shows that where the bombs and artilley attacks only took place in the Tamil areas but not in any Sinhalese areas. Thus, showing the conflict was targeted at the Tamils

Extra Note: For any inference question during the exams or tests, always come up with atleast
2 inferences.
